| ROBERT HILL is a retired engineer who worked for Michigan Bell, Ameritech, AT&T, and SBC. Bob obtained his first Collie in 1960, a city dog whose owners wanted it to live in the country. In 1963 the Hills purchased another Collie, Jamie, that completed its Companion Dog obedience title by one year of age. Bob and Jamie then went on to earn both American Kennel Club and Canadian Kennel Club Companion Dog Excellent and Utility Dog obedience titles. This same dog also earned an all-breed High in Trial Award and High in Trial at the Collie Club of America national specialty in 1970. At that time, Jamie was the only Collie in Michigan with a Utility Dog title. Since then, Bob and his wife Janet (current MAPBD Treasurer) have completed obedience titles on other Collies they bred, have had one "home-bred" Champion and other Collies that they showed. Bob has judged many obedience matches throughout Michigan. Bob and Janet are Charter Members of MAPBD, and were active in its formation in 1966. Both Bob and Janet have held offices in MAPBD since that time. The Hills are also members of the Collie Club of America and the Midwest Collie Club since 1965, again holding offices in each organization, and honored as Life Members of the Midwest Collie Club.
