MAPBD is a Michigan non-profit organization. Because a substantial part of our activities involve legislative lobbying, we are not eligible to become a federal tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. That means your donations to MAPBD are not tax-deductible.
Nevertheless, the donations of dog owners and dog clubs in Michigan are essential to help us all keep Michigan a dog friendly state. MAPBD has NO PAID STAFF and all legislative work, public service appearances, and educational materials are created by VOLUNTEERS. We do not own real estate or rent fancy office space. As a result, all monies we receive from contributions are directed entirely toward the mission of MAPBD.
